Maple Syrup Grades

The names of Maple Syrup grades have been changed. Here are the updated names along with the former and some information on each.

GRADE A: GOLDEN (DELICATE FLAVOR)

Formerly: Grade A Light Amber

This syrup—made in colder climates, usually sometime in late February—is the first syrup of the season. It is the lightest in color and the most delicate in flavor.

GRADE A: AMBER (RICH FLAVOR)

Formerly: Grade A Medium Amber or Grade A Dark Amber

This delicious maple syrup is somewhat darker than the Golden and is known for its smooth maple flavor. This distinctive taste is produced mid-season.

GRADE A: DARK (ROBUST FLAVOR)

Formerly: Grade B

As the days become warmer in the sugaring season, we produce this darker, robust flavored maple syrup.
